Eva's Thoughts

  • Notices should probably be sent if someone loses a spouse, parent, child, or grandchild but we should always check with the member beforehand. Maybe if there is an illness of any of the above only if a member agrees it is OK to do so.
  • Members who have an illness should not be announced unless the member asks for it. I have been approached by two members NOT to mention it to general membership. I had no intention to do so.
  • Notices about aunts, uncles, secondary family members are probably not appropriate.

Suggested procedure in bulleted format:

  • Any member in the club reports an event - illness, loss, etc - to the designated person
  • Designated person communicates with the member to see if they need help or if it is OK to communicate their issue with the club on their behalf
  • Designated person reaches out the admin@awcc-nh.org to request an email group be set up for all members minus the one in need
  • Designated person then sends out the notice using the newly set up email group
  • At some point, Admin needs to clean up old email groups that are no longer needed - this is something that can be done at the end of each membership year
